Our Story

만남부터 지금까지

From the first hello to forever

서울에서의 첫 만남 이후, 저희는 보스턴과 서울 두 도시를 오가며 긴 시차와 거리를 지나야 했습니다. 그 시간마저도 소중한 과정이라 믿으며, 서로를 향한 마음으로 기다림을 이어왔습니다.

1년여의 장거리 끝에 태평양을 건너, 마침내 샌프란시스코 베이에 함께 자리 잡게 되었습니다. 이 모든 여정에 감사하며, 발리의 하늘 아래에서 하나 되어 저희의 새로운 시작을 소중한 분들과 함께하고자 합니다.

Ours is a love that began with a single glance in Seoul, during a work trip neither of us will forget. We fell for each other the day we met, and for over a year after, our love lived between Boston and Seoul — late-night calls, long flights, and the promise that this was only the beginning.

Then Daniel crossed oceans for us — first to Los Angeles, then finally to the Bay Area, where we've built a home together at last. Every time zone, every goodbye at the airport, every leap of faith has led us here. We're so grateful and so glad you're celebrating with us.

다솜이를 처음 만난 순간, 사랑에 빠졌습니다. 시크하고 도도한 매력에 끌렸고, 좋아하는 것들을 나누며 서로 닮아 있음을 알게 되었습니다. 그 순간부터 우리는 같은 미래를 꿈꾸기 시작했습니다.

3년이 넘는 시간을 함께하며, 솔직하고 당돌한 모습 너머로 누구보다 따뜻하고 깊은 마음을 지닌 사람이라는 걸 알게 되었습니다. 어느새 그녀는 제 삶에서 가장 소중한 사람이 되어 있었습니다.

그녀와 함께할 앞으로의 모든 시간이 기다려집니다. 늘 그녀에게 따뜻한 품이 되어주고 싶습니다.

I fell in love with Audrey the moment we met. I was drawn to her confident, effortlessly cool presence, and as we talked about the things we loved, I realized how much we had in common. That's when we started dreaming about the same future.

Over the past three years, I've come to know the warmth behind her strength and the depth of her heart. Somewhere along the way, she became the most important person in my life.

I look forward to everything that lies ahead for us, and I hope to always be someone she can lean on and feel at home with.

동규를 처음 만난 날, 저희는 다섯 시간 동안 단 한 번도 자리에서 일어나지 않은 채 마감 시간까지 이야기를 나눴습니다. 그렇게 편하고 자연스럽게 이어지는 대화는 처음이었어요. 가치관도, 생각도, 세상을 바라보는 방식도 참 많이 닮아 있었기 때문입니다.

서울에 머무는 일주일 동안 저희는 매일 함께 시간을 보냈고, 저는 운명의 짝을 만났다고 느꼈습니다. 몇 년이 지난 지금도 그때의 마음은 변함없습니다. 동규는 이제 제 삶에서 없어서는 안 될 사람이 되었습니다.

I knew Daniel was the one the day we met. We didn't get up from our seats for five hours, until the place was closing. It was the most effortless conversation I've ever had: same values, same instincts, same way of making sense of the world. For the rest of my week in Seoul, we spent every day together.

I remember thinking, so this is what it feels like when it's meant to be. Years later, nothing about that feeling has changed. Daniel is the person I didn't know I needed and the one I can't imagine life without.

Jimbaran · Our most-loved restaurant in Bali! Jimbaran is famous for seafood, but hygiene concerns kept us from the beachside spots — and we found this gem instead. Signature dishes include Betutu Duck and Beef Ribs. We had the seafood BBQ and satay — both beyond expectations, the outdoor garden is stunning, and the local cocktails were an unexpected highlight. Ask for a recommendation!

Ubud · A perfect refuge for tired Ubud explorers. We ducked in for coffee during a city tour and instantly fell for the smooth, laid-back vibe. The coffee, drinks, and cocktails were all beyond expectations — and the food was a lovely surprise too. Being a brunch spot, it's also great for a light, easy meal. If your feet need a break, this is where to go. Also a Canggu location available. Note: closes at 2 PM!

드레스코드가 어떻게 되나요?

What is the dress code?

세미-포멀을 추천드립니다. 발리 날씨에 맞는 가볍고 편한 복장으로 오시면 좋습니다. 리셉션은 야외 잔디에서 진행되므로, 굽이 높고 얇은 힐보다는 낮고 안정적인 신발을 권해드려요.

Semi-formal is recommended. Light, breathable fabrics are ideal for the Bali climate. As the reception will be held on an outdoor lawn, we recommend wedges or block heels over stilettos.

결혼식 당일 셔틀이 있나요?

Is there a shuttle on the wedding day?

RIMBA에서 트레스나 채플까지 이동하는 셔틀이 오후 5시에 출발합니다. 이용을 원하시는 경우, 오후 4시 50분까지 RIMBA 로비에서 대기해 주세요.

RIMBA에 투숙하지 않으시는 경우, AYANA Resort 로비로 오신 뒤 직원에게 Tresna Chapel 이동을 요청하시면 버기를 이용하실 수 있습니다.

A shuttle will depart from RIMBA to Tresna Chapel at 5:00 PM. If you plan to use the shuttle, please be at the RIMBA lobby by 4:50 PM.

If you are not staying at RIMBA, please make your way to the AYANA Resort lobby. From there, you can ask the staff for a buggy ride to Tresna Chapel.

Most travelers (including from the U.S. and Korea) require a Visa on Arrival (VOA), which costs IDR 500,000 (about $35) and can be obtained at the airport.

However, lines can be long during peak season, so we recommend applying for an e-VOA online in advance. The cost is the same, and it allows you to skip the queue.

Please ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.

공항에서 리조트까지 어떻게 가나요?

How do I get from the airport to the resort?

공항에서 AYANA까지는 교통 상황에 따라 약 20–30분 정도 소요됩니다. Grab이나 공항 택시를 이용하시면 편하게 이동하실 수 있어요.

AYANA is about 20–30 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic. Grab and airport taxis are convenient options.

What's the weather like in August?

8월은 발리의 건기예요. 낮 기온은 29–30°C 정도, 저녁은 23°C 정도로 선선합니다. 비는 거의 오지 않고 습도도 낮아, 짐바란의 바닷바람과 함께 쾌적한 날씨를 느끼실 수 있어요. 저녁에 물가에 가실 때는 가벼운 겉옷을 챙기시면 좋습니다.

August is Bali's dry season, with warm daytime temperatures around 29–30°C (84–86°F) and cooler evenings around 23°C (73°F). Rain is rare, and humidity is noticeably lower, with a pleasant ocean breeze in Jimbaran. A light layer is recommended for the evening, especially near the water.

Can I bring my children?

물론이에요. 아이들도 환영합니다. 아이들을 위한 식사가 따로 준비되니, 동반하시는 경우 참석 여부를 알려주실 때 함께 말씀해 주세요.
